Shocking news

i recently posted about what would happen if my mom got sick,seeing that i'm apostate.

even today i posted on a thread about blood transfusions.. i just received a text from my brother saying that my mom is in hospital and requires a transfusion to survive....is this a coincidence?.

am i being punished by jehovah, or is the devil out to get me...i dont know anymore what to do.... things are getting too much, guess i should not have joked so much in my posts..

Sorry to hear about your Mother but she is the one who is sick, so no....you aren't being punished. To think that your words have that much power over the God of the universe (if he exists), must be a heavy burden for you to bear. I'm sure on some level you realize that it's a bit egocentric or narcissistic to believe that God (if he exists) would punish your mother because of something you said or did.

If the devil (if he exists) were out to get you, he would likely make positive things happen for you rather than negative things that might send you running back to the JW's.

Charles Manson is a mass murderer and yet he is in his high 80's and has been alive and well in prison for decades living off the taxpayers while my wonderful father died not taking a blood transfusion supposedly out of obedience to Jehovah, which proves to me there is no God.
It's time to focus your energy on helping your mother now, rather than wasting it on these superstitious notions about God and the Devil that were planted in your mind by religious fanatics.

Why were humans supposedly created to live forever but animals weren't ? Does this mean animals will grow old and die and suffer the ravages of old age just as they do now? Will humans not feel sad when the animals they love keep getting sick or injured and dying throughout all eternity? Why would a loving God do that to the animals? If I didn't take care of my aged or sick dog or cat, I would be thought of as a cruel person but God apparently intended for animals to get sick and grow old and die.

that's what i've been told by a family member (elder) who went to one of the regional conventions in the north of the u.k lately, who told me the 300 or more disfellowshipped who returned to jehovah by attending show that the end is so close, just like the final talk says..

There's a high number of battered women who return to their batterers and studies show this is primarily because they somehow are convinced that they were partly to blame.

In my experience, I think it's safe to say that most DF'd JW's on some level are still victims of the cult and are often convinced that they deserved to be disfellowshipped and shunned.

If this rumor about the high return of DF'd ones is true, it's obvious they aren't returning out of love for God. They are returning for self serving reasons.(can't blame them). Not only do they literally loose all their friends and family, they still erroneously believe that their eternal life hangs in the balance as well.

Relaxed rules toward oral sex?

these people won't state anything definitively, but here's an excerpt from the study article entitled "making christian marriage a success", in the august, 2016 watchtower.

it does make me wonder.. although the bible does not provide specific rules about the kinds and limits of love play that might be associated with natural, sexual intimacy, it mentions displays of affection.

(song of solomon 1:2; 2:6) christian marriage partners should treat each other with tenderness.

Fake personalitys

so i know i said on my last post that might be my last i still have one more week till that.. but i want to say somethings untill i see if i can post still but what i want to say is i had to go to the 2017 jw convention and my aunt can be a ass hole sometimes im sorry that was the only thing i could think of.i started to listen to how she acts when talking to people at the convention or the kingdom hall she acts 2x has nice and never gets mad.. i just wanted to talk about this just something i picked up on..

Don't be too hard on your Aunt. Most people (including yourself) are on their best behavior when in public, and are in a better mood when around their friends or on special occasions. It's not just a JW thing.

What makes it difficult to take when it comes to JW's is that they use their loving behavior as proof that they are the true religion when really, they are like everyone else who have their good and bad qualities....good and bad moments of behavior.

I went informal witnessing today

i go to the local mcdonald's for a strong latte and raisin toast and i perched my feathers on a corner seat noticing a older european guy in a suit sitting by himself, so i move next to him and said it was warmer this chair.

i say you on business matters mate, he says ya but seemed only interested in his news paper.

i knew he was jw because jw assembly hall is not in a business district.

JW's don't like it when they are not the ones in the drivers seat. You clearly had control of the conversation and were bringing up points he no doubt had struggle with himself, in the past.

This is why JW's must not be around anyone but other JW's....it rattles them to hear anyone say out loud, the things they dare not think themselves.

Set the record straight!

i would like to state publicly, on this forum, i no longer hold the views i had a year ago.. with much thought, research, study and logical examination i have come to a better understanding of my beliefs and where i stand on all these issues.. i'm very happy to announce i have returned to healthful teaching of the holy scriptures and i firmly believe that the governing body of jehovah's witnesses is the faithful slave.. sorry if i have contibuted to any kind of stumbling and know that if i can turn things around then there's hope for all who come to there sence.. phill4:6,7.

With much thought, research, study and logical examination I have come to a better understanding of my beliefs and where I stand on all these issues.

I'm guessing the research and study was done via the Societies literature rather than a thorough examination that included information from outside sources. I wouldn't even buy a new a new car based solely on the information provided by the manufacturer. To make a sound decision, I'd need information from outside sources that had no vested interest in the outcome of my decision.

Sorry if I have ~~contibuted~~ (contributed) to any kind of stumbling and know that if I can turn things around then there's hope for all who come to there ~~sence.~~ (sense)

To help undo the supposed damage you did to all those who read your posts on this forum, perhaps you could share exactly how you came to the conclusion that the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses are who they say they are. Even using their own literature, how does one possibly prove something so profoundly unprovable?

Just Offended A JW Cart Witness Without Even Trying

two carts set up a few feet from each other.

one manned by a man and woman (i assume they're a couple) in their late 30s.. the guys walks off to the other cart as im walking by, i wasn't going to approach but the woman holding the awake!

I tried to keep it short and polite and said "im an atheist, i dont like that the bible condones slavery..." The man became offended and quite annoyed in his tone "slavery? Where does the bible condone slavery?"

At that point a good little JW wife, out of respect for the men present, would have immediately put a head covering on and quoted this scripture to you. and reminded you that there's a difference between a servant and a slave Deut 15: 16-18

But if your servant says to you, “I do not want to leave you,” because he loves you and your family and is well off with you, 17 then take an awl and push it through his earlobe into the door, and he will become your servant for life. Do the same for your female servant.

"It shall not seem hard to you when you set him free, for he has given you six years with double the service of a hired man; so the LORD your God will bless you in whatever you do.…

Humourous reasons to go back

in my stand up comedy routine tonight i want to list humourous reasons why i shd go back to jws.. how about nobody throws parties like jws.. how about jws being at the cutting edge of fashion.. how about it being easier for men to get a date.. any ideas?.

Reasons to go back:

To get a refresher course on being judgmental toward others.
To take a break from thinking on my own
For the low brow and low cost reading material they provide
To get my moneys worth of wear out of all the suits and ties I bought
To have an excuse for not getting involved in my community or giving to charity
To be reminded to ratchet my self esteem back a few notches from healthy, to lowly of mind.
To be like my old friends and family who like to think of themselves as "faithful" when the reality is, they can't be bothered anymore and have given up searching.

Born Ins, How Did Your Parents Get "The Truth™"?

born ins are in a unique position in that we never knew any other way of life.

no birthdays, christmas and overly superstitious family just seemed normal.

when my parents talked about their pre-jw life it seemed like they were talking about completely different people (actually, that's true, the cult had taken their real selves).. so i'd be interested in hearing how your parents were indoctrinated.. my dad.

My parents, in their mid 20's came to the U.S. from Europe for better opportunities for themselves and us kids. They left all of their family and friends behind.

Some nice JW' ladies came to call on my lonely mother. They offered her friendship, family and everlasting life. The door to all of the opportunities in terms of higher education, jobs, holidays, sports, life experiences for themselves and us kids, was slammed shut from that point on.

My Father never got baptized but studied for years and died from not taking a blood transfusion during a surgery. Everything he knew about the topic of blood transfusion, was learned from JW's during his Bible study with them. A short time after he died (horribly) the JW's decided that blood fractions were acceptable. In his case, the use of blood fractions would have surely saved him. The decision to allow the use of blood fractions because they weren't considered blood, would have tipped him off that these ordinary men, don't know what they are talking about and that maybe he should take medical direction from highly trained medical professionals instead.
